Our Community Development Program(CDP) is designed to provide a development & mentorship pathway for disadvantaged members of our community in playing, coaching, refereeing and statistics.
Program participants will undertake courses in Refereeing, Coaching and Bench duties and hone their skills during the Junior Club Season. Playing fees for the successful applicants will be covered by Bendigo Bank Logan Village & Yarrabilba Basketball, all courses are provided free of charge.
Once the current season is over participants that have successfully completed the necessary training will be awarded a certificate of completion, along with their coaching and refereeing accreditation. Our hope is that the participants that completed the program will return the following season’s and become paid for their work with Yarrabilba Basketball Association.
This will hopefully lessen the burden of sport cost for disadvantaged youth and their families, and also reduce the barriers for sports participation into the future.
